Email Overload

Below you see the graph with my email (over)load. It shows how many messages I get and send each month over the last year or so, courtesy of Google's Monthly Activity Report.

What is interesting is that I send about 1/3 of the amount of email that I get. If you consider that some portion of that are replies, but others are new threads, then that means that more than 2/3 of emails received are either ignored, deleted, or filed away without replies.

It also means that if you send me an email, there is a 30% chance I will reply. Yet, email is the best way to get ahold of me.
