2/3 Vegetarian

This is an old blog posting that got lost when the hard disk in my server crashed over the summer; I have recovered it from a backup and I'm just now putting it back up.

The title says it all. I am 2/3 vegetarian. I don't eat meat for breakfast or lunch. I only eat meat at dinner. Sounds like some kind of vampire thing: "No meat till sundown!" But it is not.

Son of a HoF

Ok, es oficial. I am the son of a Hall of Famer. Yeah, you got it. My dad was selected to be part of the Sports Hall of Fame in Puerto Rico. But for now, all that's left to say is that we are honored to have in our family a member of the "Pabellón de la Fama del Deporte Puertorriqueño."

Hispanic Last Names: Why Two of Them?

One of the most misunderstood characteristics of Hispanic culture is the use of our last names. In the last 20 years, more and more Hispanics are being mentioned in the mainstream of American society. Names like Gabriel García Marquez and Arancha Sanchez Vicario are two names that get lots of press. Their last names, two in each case, are every now and then confused.

Personal Information

Depending on how you ask, I am Puertorrican, Caribeño, Hispanic, Latino or American.
